About the Virtual Youth Volunteer Committee

Together this dynamic committee is made up of high school, post-secondary and graduate students all doing their part to meaningful help and show their support to Holland Bloorview.


Meet the members

AmarisAmaris Terner is currently a grade 11 student at St. Clements School. She spends her free time enjoying the outdoors, peer tutoring, skiing and making art. She joined the youth volunteer committee because she wants to be part of the positive impact that Holland Bloorview is making on the world!
 

AngeleneAngelene Grewal is going into her second year as a Life Science student at McMaster. She contributes her time to helping third-grade students with math and volunteering at a variety of science and activity-based camps. She believes that small actions have the possibility to create a lasting positive impact on the lives of children with disabilities.
 

Annie Wasserman is a grade 11 student who attends The York School in Toronto. She loves how the Virtual Youth Volunteer Committee allows her to make strong, positive changes within her own community. In Annie's spare time she likes to run, take photos, and bake.

Brooke MacAdam is a grade 10 student at York Mills Collegiate Institute, and she is excited to be a part of the Holland Bloorview Virtual Volunteer Committee! She is driven to give back to her community and make a difference. Her experience in competitive sports has inspired her to work with young athletes and help them reach their full potential, through programs such as TAC Sports Camp and Skate Ontario CanSkate. She hopes to pursue a career in teaching!

ElysiaElysia Chau is fascinated by life sciences and biology and will be starting her first year at the University of Toronto in the fall. She is passionate about healing others and mental health awareness, and is delighted to be volunteering with Holland Bloorview.

 

Emma BEmma Bertucci is a recent Business graduate from Western University with a specialization in Human Resources Management. She has joined the HB volunteer committee because she believes hospitals are the pillar of all communities and wants to contribute to raising funds and awareness so HB can continue to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Emma WEmma Wagman is a current student at Havergal College. She decided to be a part of this committee because she wants to start making an impact and giving back to her community. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, walking her dog, staying active, and cooking.
 

EthanEthan Kozak is a tenth-grade student at Thornhill Secondary School. He wants to pursue a career in healthcare and help make a difference in any way he can. Ethan enjoys helping others, cooking, playing hockey, and letting his heart get crushed by the Toronto Maple Leafs every year.

GhazalGhazal Haddadi is currently in her third year of Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University. She is constantly involved in many volunteer and research opportunities both at her university and also in the community. During her free time she enjoys giving back to the community, working out, and spending time with her friends and family. She aspires to continue helping in the community and pursuing her passion to put a smile on others faces. 

Jeffrey Man is a passionate student at the Schulich School of Business who spends his free time developing entrepreneurial initiatives or collaborating on projects at Holland Bloorview.

HariHari Navaratnam is a Grade 11 student at Stephen Lewis Secondary School. He is an active member of his school community as he is a part of many different clubs and participate in many competitions. Outside of school, he enjoys baking and cooking, watching TV shows, and getting involved within his community. 
 

KaitlynKaitlyn Dean is a student at Havergal College. She is a competitive volleyball player who loves spending time with her friends and family. She is passionate about giving back to her community, loves working with kids, and strives to make a difference volunteering at Holland Bloorview, both on the Virtual Youth Volunteer Committee and in the hospital’s Therapeutic Playroom.

KieraKeira Sainsbury is currently a grade 11 student at the Bishop Strachan School and is passionate about visual arts, volunteering, and building strong relationships with people in her community. In her spare time, Keira loves to cook, paint, and hang out with her sister, Sara.
 

Megan RMegan Raber is a Queen’s University commerce student pursuing her passion of positive social impact via the intersection of business administration and healthcare. This resonates with her four years of experience with the non-profit community. Outside of her community involvement, you can find Megan in the kitchen baking or taking advantage of nature’s beauty in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta.

Meghan LMeghan Langill is a junior at Toronto French School interested in pursuing Sciences in post-secondary. She is a competitive athlete who strives to push herself to the best of her abilities in everything she pursues. Meghan is passionate about helping others and has always been interested in volunteering at Holland Bloorview.
 

MichelleMichelle Wong is currently a 1st year MScPT student at the University of Toronto. She is passionate about raising awareness for childhood disability and volunteering for non-profit organizations. Outside of her community involvement, she enjoys exploring new cafes, baking, and spending time outdoors!
 

MithilMithil Kumar is working on a degree at McMaster University in the Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences program. Previously, he has worked as an academic mentor, a crisis helpline worker, and a tennis instructor. In his spare time, Mithil enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and playing basketball.
 

NuhaNuha Zawahir is currently a grade nine student at Markham District High School. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, photography and going for runs on nearby trails! Nuha is interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and is deeply passionate about making positive changes in the community with Holland Bloorview. 
 

RhiannonRhiannon Sankey is currently a grade 11 student at the Toronto French School. She loves the outdoors, making art, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family. Rhiannon joined this committee because she wanted to give back to her community and wanted to make a positive contribution to Holland Bloorview.
 

Rhea Katyal is a grade 9 student at Leaside High School. She has completed 5km walks for the Canadian Chiropractic College, City of Toronto and organized a hygiene drive for the Good Shepherd Homeless Shelter. She was also selected to be an Ontario Legislative Page. Rhea enjoys baking, reading, Netflix and swimming in her spare time.

RiaRia Bajaj is is currently a grade 11 student at Donald A Wilson. She loves volunteering and is passionate about Social Justice. She wants to help her community through volunteering with Holland Bloorview and in her spare time enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and playing sports.
 

ShayanShayan Heybati is currently a grade 12 student at The Country Day School. Outside of school, Shayan enjoys long-distance running, road cycling, tennis and playing the piano. He is passionate about pediatrics and making a longitudinal impact in his community, leading him to be a TR-CCC volunteer at Holland Bloorview and a peer tutor for youth with learning disabilities.

ShilohShiloh Terner is a grade eight student at St Clement’s School. She is very excited to be a part of Holland Bloorview’s first ever virtual Committee! She loves spending time with younger children and believes that when someone decides to volunteer, our community only becomes stronger. In her free time, she loves to workout and get outside! 
 

SophiaSophia Sanchez is a grade 9 student that attends St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga. She is a youth ministry leader at her church. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening with her family and swimming with her friends. 

 

Taylor ETaylor Ellis is entering her 3rd year at Western University’s media information and technoculture program. She is passionate about social justice and working with others to create a better world. Spending time with family, friends, her dogs and reading are her favorite pastimes!
 

TheodoraTheodora Ananiadis is a student at Western University studying Kinesiology. She is an avid and longtime volunteer in her home community, church, and school. With a passion for pediatrics, Theodora is excited to volunteer for Holland Bloorview. In her spare time, Theodora can be found sharing a coffee with family and friends and playing sports!
 

ZoeZoe Kortje is a second year Life Sciences student at Queen’s University. She joined the committee to immerse herself in the medical community and help support Holland Bloorview, a hospital with programs that she truly believes in. She is particularly interested in pursuing a career in pediatrics or neurology. In her free time, Zoe loves to play her violin, read and go for hikes in her hometown, Vancouver!
