Recreational or instructional aquatic programs

Aquatics and swim programs are offered 7 days a week to the general community serving infants to seniors.
In keeping with Holland Bloorview’s mandate, our aquatics programs are fully integrated and registration priority is given to any swimmer who has a disability, especially those who cannot be successfully integrated into a community swim program.

Volunteer support is available to swimmers who require one-on-one support in order to participate safely in the swim programs.  Some programs are “drop-in” in nature, while others require advance registration.

Holland Bloorview's swimming lesson program, Aquafitness (for youth to seniors), and various specialty programs ensure that there are program options for everyone.

Holland Bloorview’s inpatient population participates 3 times weekly in the aquatics programs.

To make our pool accessible and welcoming to a broad range of swimmers with disabilities, our pool has a number of unique features. Our water temperature is 33ºC (92ºF), our change rooms (including family style) are fully accessible equipped with ceiling lifts, and we have an excellent variety of water chairs and a ramp.
