Pediatric dentistry at Holland Bloorview specializes in providing general dentistry services to children, adolescents and young adults (22 years of age and under) with complex medical needs. Our services are also offered to siblings of clients.

We see both inpatients and outpatients, whose treatment is best managed by a team of specialists who understands the needs of children with disability and their families.

Getting a referral

A referral is required from either a physician or dentist to access Holland Bloorview’s dental services. Download a referral form or contact dental reception at 416-425-6220, ext. 3465.

Fees and payment

Clients and families are responsible for covering pediatric dental service fees. These fees are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Services may be covered by private insurance plans or social assistance.

Please note that patients will need to pay in full at the time of the appointment in order to receive reimbursement from an insurance company. We accept payment in Amex, debit, MasterCard, Visa, cash or cheque. We offer electronic insurance billing directly to the insurance companies, which allows for immediate payment and balance responses.

If you have dental insurance, please bring the follow information with you in order for us to submit your insurance claim or estimate on your behalf:

  • Name of the insurance company
  • Group or policy number and identification or certificate number
  • Birth date of the insured member
