Welcome to the Pediatric Rehabilitation Intervention Measure of Engagement (PRIME) suite of tools

The tools in the Pediatric Rehabilitation Intervention Measure of Engagement (PRIME) suite are designed to measure the engagement of children and youth, parents, and service providers involved in rehabilitation therapy. The PRIME suite was developed by an interdisciplinary group of researchers, clinicians, and family partners from across Canada, the United States, and Australia.

There are six measures of engagement in the PRIME suite to date. Once published, the tools are available for free download. To date, the published tools include:

  1. Pediatric Rehabilitation Intervention Measure of Engagement – Parent: Captures the parent’s perspective on their own engagement in a session. It is for parents who typically attend their child’s therapy sessions. Read more about the PRIME-P.
  2. Pediatric Rehabilitation Intervention Measure of Engagement – Service Provider: Captures the service provider’s perspective on their client’s engagement in a session. The client could be a child/youth, a parent, or both. Read more about the PRIME-SP.
  3. Pediatric Rehabilitation Intervention Measure of Engagement – Observation: Captures an observer’s rating of client engagement in a session. These are ratings of observable signs of engagement of the service provider and the client. Read more about the PRIME-O.
