In 2012, The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) recognized Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization® (BPSO®). This designation recognizes organizations in implementing best practice guidelines (BPG) to optimize care and improve client and organizational outcomes. Using BPGs together with RNAO’s leading change toolkits enables organizations to develop strong, evidence-based cultures.
Holland Bloorview implemented 4 best practice guidelines to become a BPSO® designated organization:
- Supporting and strengthening families through expected and unexpected life events
- Client-centered care
- Assessment and management of pain
- Collaborative practice among nursing teams
Since 2012, Holland Bloorview has continued to be a BPSO Designate, which means continuing to implement best practice guidelines that can help to improve care for clients and families.
Looking Forward to 2026
We are excited to undertake a formal opportunity analysis and implement recommendations to align with two newly updated Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs). This initiative will allow us to ensure that our practices are consistently aligned with the most current and best available evidence.
