CommunityCONNECT with TNO on Subsidized Housing and Rental Basics

This information session is part of the CommunityCONNECT series hosted by the Family Navigation Hub at Holland Bloorview. This monthly event series shares information and resources with families related to social needs such as stable housing, food security, access to childcare and more. This month's topic is - Housing.
This Housing session will feature a presentation from Abiodun Idedewoh from TNO - The Neighbourhood Organization. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A for families to ask questions.
This session will include information about:
- Knowing Your Rights as a Tenant
Learn about your legal protections under the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), including rules around rent, repairs, privacy, eviction, and protection from discrimination or harassment. - Exploring Housing Supports and Financial Assistance Programs
Get information on how to apply for priority status on the centralized waitlist (if eligible), along with available financial supports such as the Rent Bank (for rent arrears or deposits) and the Energy Assistance Program (to help with utility costs). - Navigating the Affordable Housing Application Process
Understand how to register for the Centralized Waiting List, how choice-based housing works, and where to go for support during the application process.
