This program is designed for children and youth with disabilities, including those with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to support skill development and equip caregivers with strategies to extend learning at home. Participants will engage in exciting robotics and coding activities while cultivating essential life skills in a supportive environment.
WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL GAIN?:
- Skill Development: Children will enhance their problem-solving abilities by tackling robotics challenges, working collaboratively with peers, and developing effective communication strategies.
- Independence: The program emphasizes making choices, completing tasks independently, and practicing self-regulation, empowering participants to take ownership of their learning.
- Social Skills: Group activities are designed to foster interaction, collaboration, and teamwork, helping children build meaningful connections and learn to work effectively in diverse settings.
- Life Skills: Robotics lessons connect to real-world applications, teaching participants how technology can be used in daily life while encouraging adaptability and confidence.
This program is eligible under the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)
WHO SHOULD REGISTER?
- Participants must be able to engage safely in a structured group program with a 3:1 child to staff ratio. This program is not suitable for participants who exhibit physical aggression, self-injury, and/or property destruction when upset.
- Participants must be 8-12 years of age before or during the program, exceptions will be considered on an individual basis.
- Participants should demonstrate an interest in the robotics program and be motivated to work towards a therapeutic goal developed in collaboration with their family and Behavior Analyst.
- Participants are required to attend a “Get to know you” session on January 11, 2025, to establish goals and create a treatment plans before the program begins. If unable to attend on this date, an alternative session will be scheduled.

- Program Invitation: By January 30, 2025, families will receive an invitation to join the program or information about being placed on the waitlist.
*Tickets will be issued to all participants that have been invited for the program in which payment is due. This program qualifies under the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) funding. Invoices will be issued at the conclusion of the program. Please note that any missed classes may result in part of the program cost being ineligible for reimbursement under OAP guidelines.
