Research Focus:

Dr. Gibson's research focuses on investigating and improving quality of life, community participation, and social inclusion of children, youth and young adults with disabilities through an examination of the health practices and policies that affect their daily lives. She is also heads up the CDARS (Critical Disability and Rehabilitation Studies) Lab at Holland Bloorview.

Research

Research Focus:

Caron Gan's research focuses on family needs after pediatric brain injury and childhood disability. She is co-developer of the Family Need Questionnaire – Pediatric version for acquired brain injury (ABI) and the Pediatric Rehabilitation version (for families of children who have neuromotor, neurodevelopmental or orthopaedic conditions). She is also primary developer of the Brain Injury Family Intervention for Adolescents (BIFI-A) and has been involved in research on strengths-based family system interventions.
