Holland Bloorview celebrates employees’ milestones

On November 24, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital celebrated years of service milestones for staff, volunteers, family leaders and retirees, who achieved an important milestone in 2021.

Each year Holland Bloorview recognizes its staff for their meaningful impact they’ve made throughout their time here. This year, 121 staff were recognized for accomplishing  a major milestone, ranging from five to 40 years of service that have helped shape the culture of the hospital.

“I would like to thank everyone for your commitment and dedication to your work and for being part of advancing our vision of meaningful and healthy futures for all children, youth and their families. Each one of you has made a difference in their lives in every role across our hospital,” said Julia Hanigsberg, president and CEO of Holland Bloorview. “You are how we advance the field of childhood disability and how we make a meaningful impact for our clients and families here at Holland Bloorview, beyond our walls, nationally and internationally."

The hospital’s chair of board of directors, Poonam Puri, also thanked staff for their commitment and dedication to the organization. “I am proud to serve on the board of such an outstanding organization full of change makers who advocate for infinite possibilities for all children, youth and families,” said Poonam. “Every single role at the hospital - from clinical to non-clinical, from student to senior scientist, from administration to environmental services - all of you are part of the cultural fabric that makes Holland Bloorview so special and a shining gem of the healthcare system.”

Tracey Millar, chief people and culture officer, introduced the retirees with a heartfelt speech. “As you evolve away from Holland Bloorview, a few words… My deepest congratulations to each of you on your inspiring, meaningful and wonderful career! Your expertise and many years of dedication have had a big impact on Holland Bloorview, for that we all thank you.”

Holland Bloorview is dedicated to maintaining an exceptional work environment for its employees. With more than 1,000 dedicated employees, the hospital was ranked as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers.

Congratulations to all the recipients! Congratulations to everyone marking a milestone!
