National Nurses Week is the annual celebration of nurses in Canada, held each year in the week of May 12, to mark the anniversary of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale’s birth.
Dr. Jessica Lynch completed her Medical School at the University of Toronto (U of T) and her Paediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario at the University of Ottawa. She returned to Toronto to complete her subspecialty residency in Developmental Paediatrics and graduated in 2019. Dr. Lynch is currently a Developmental Paediatrician in the Child Development Program at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
Dr. Melanie Penner, a developmental pediatrician and clinician scientist at Holland Bloorview, is working to change that, thanks to a $250,000 gift from longtime donor Mary Davie that is enabling ground-breaking research in autism diagnosis and service delivery.
Kristen completed her Bachelor's in Neuroscience at McGill University and MPhil in Medical Science at the University of Cambridge. Kristen is interested in studying neurodevelopment to improve the well-being and outcomes of children with diverse support needs. She is supporting the clinical BCI program and various research activities at the PRISM Lab.
The Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) officially recognized Holland Bloorview in 2012 as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) – one of just 14 organizations to earn this distinction.
