Carly Cermak
Carly Cermak is a Ph.D student working under the supervision of Dr. Deryk Beal in the CONNECT lab. Carly completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree, Psychology, from McMaster University in 2007, followed by a Masters of Clinical Science degree, Speech-Language Pathology, from the University of Western Ontario in 2011. Carly worked as a full time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for five years with the Simcoe County Preschool Speech and Language Program until starting graduate studies in September 2016. In her spare time Carly continues to work as an SLP to assess and treat children of all ages with various communication disorders, differences, and delays. Carly is also an avid swimmer, competing at the masters level both nationally and internationally.
Carly’s research will be investigating cognitive communication disorders in children with brain injury. Carly’s research aims to have clinical application to pediatric rehabilitation.
