"I started competing in the summer of 2003, beginning with the Ontario Paralympic Championships. Things have been going really well. In the summer of 2004 I competed in Edmonton at the Canadian Paralympic Track and Field Championships and Open Challenge and won both the 100 metre and the 200 metre, and I am currently training to compete at the World Championships in the summer of 2005 in Finland.
The team at Bloorview is phenomenal. The support and encouragement I have received from everyone there has meant so much. To see my same joy and excitement mirrored in their faces, first when I began to walk and again when I started to run, is incredible. They have allowed me to continue to dream without limits. I feel like there is nothing I can't do.”
