She has a BSc in Human Kinetics and a MSc in Kinesiology. Ilana’s PhD project is focusing on understanding the body language communication of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), with a specific focus on physical activity. Overall, the purpose of this study is to improve the engagement of children with ASD during physical activity programs by improving the awareness of body language cues among coaches and instructors. Ilana’s interest in this topic stems from her love of physical activity and her avid participation in sports and recreational activities such as basketball, snowboarding, and weight lifting.
