Dr. Joelene Huber, MSc(A), PhD, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Joelene Huber is a developmental paediatrician and the Medical Lead of the ABILITY Program at the Hospital for Sick Children. The ABILITY program aims to adapt and improve health care delivery for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder and/or Intellectual/Developmental Disability who require medical care at the Hospital for Sick Children. Joelene completed medical school at McMaster University, paediatric residency at the University of Toronto and Hospital for Sick Children and a fellowship in developmental paediatrics at the University of Toronto and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. She holds a Master of Science (Speech-Language Pathology) from McGill University and a PhD in Medical Science and Neuroscience from the University of Toronto, completed in the Brain and Behaviour program/Psychology department at the Hospital for Sick Children. Joelene has a special interest in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis, treatment, and research. Joelene also completed a fellowship in journalism for subject matter experts at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto, and has worked in various capacities in medical journalism.
