Karolina is the Vice President of Medical Programs at Avicanna and is responsible for managing and developing research and clinical partnerships. Prior to Avicanna, Karolina consulted and conducting due diligence on potential investments and supported portfolio companies. Karolina has MSc in Neurosciences from the University of Calgary and PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and Neurosciences at the University of Toronto with expertise in neuroimaging and brain injury.
Dr. Melanie Penner is a developmental pediatrician and senior clinician scientist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and an associate professor in the department of pediatrics at the University of Toronto. She holds the Bloorview Children’s Hospital Foundation chair in developmental pediatrics. Her research seeks to improve service delivery for autistic children and their families, including evaluating the impact of new care models.
