I dare to believe in myself more each day
When 17-year-old Zen joined Holland Bloorview’s Brain Computer Interface research program it transformed his life, opening doors to new feelings of freedom and confidence. BCI helps kids like Zen with limited speech and movement use their brains to do everyday things like painting, playing video games, expressing themselves and connecting with others. Zen became a Holland Bloorview ambassador to help other people understand how life-changing it can be. “As an ambassador, I have a voice—not just for myself, but for others who feel unheard,” he says. “BCI gave me a level of independence that means everything to me. It allows me to express myself. I feel heard and appreciated, and every day I find more ways to dare—to trust others, to build connections and to believe in myself.” Find out more about Zen and BCI by scanning the QR code here.
