On June 9, Holland Bloorview held its annual Salute & Celebrate event, our cherished event that honours the incredible contributions of employees, volunteers, family and youth leaders. The celebration highlighted the dedication, resilience and impact of individuals who have reached significant service milestones and those who received awards in 2024.

“This is our time to pause, reflect, and most importantly, recognize the incredible people who make Holland Bloorview the extraordinary place it is – a place where passion, brilliance, creativity and innovation all come together to support the most meaningful and healthy futures for all children, youth and families,” said Julia Hanigsberg, president and CEO, Holland Bloorview. 

This year, 10 staff members were recognized for serving the organization for more than 30 years, three of whom have worked for over 35 years. “That level of dedication to this organization is truly inspiring. It speaks to a deep sense of purpose, and a culture where people don’t just come to work, they come to contribute, to grow, and to make a lasting impact,” said Hanigsberg.

Catherine Roche, chair of the board of directors, reaffirmed the board’s commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace: “When teams are healthy, supported and empowered, the impact on our clients and families is profound.”

Lyndsay Tchegus-Veiga, senior director, client and family integrated care, transitions and community partnerships recognized the vital role of volunteers and family and youth leaders: “You inspire us to do better, to be better and to dream bigger. We are so grateful for your passion, your partnership and your presence in this community.”

2024 award recipients and individuals reaching service milestones ranging from five years to 35 years, were congratulated by their fellow colleagues, drawing cheers and appreciation from everyone in attendance.

In total, around 250 members of the Holland Bloorview community were honoured during the celebration. The event reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to building a healthy, connected and driven team, a top priority of the HB2030 strategic plan. By creating opportunities for connection, fostering a sense of belonging and celebrating achievements, Holland Bloorview continues to uplift the people who truly help advance its mission.
