New directors bring diverse leadership, governance and health-care expertise
Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (Holland Bloorview) is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to its board of directors. These accomplished leaders bring a wealth of experience across health care, business, governance and community leadership, further strengthening the hospital's commitment to creating a world of possibility for children and youth with disabilities and their families.

I look forward to working alongside them as we continue to strengthen our governance and help guide Holland Bloorview’s work to create the most meaningful and healthy futures for children, youth and families.”
The new directors are:
Laura Mattila
Laura Mattila is the executive director, Physician Health Program, Ontario Medical Association (OMA) since 2020. She has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare leadership in Ontario and has served in volunteer executive board roles in the areas of community health, supportive housing, mental health and women's employment.
Heather Tulk
Heather Tulk is a corporate director and former CEO with more than 30 years of experience leading organizations through growth, innovation and change. She is principal of Carlor Advisory, where she advises boards, CEOs and executive teams on strategy, transformation, responsible AI adoption, governance and organizational effectiveness.
Heather previously served as president of TELUS' commercial and public sector division and as president and CEO of BioScript Solutions, a national specialty health-care organization that supports patients with complex and chronic conditions.
She serves on several boards and is committed to advancing youth success, mental health and diversity.
Andrew Escobar
Andrew Escobar is the founder of In Good Company, a startup that enables AI agents and workflows to securely and responsibly complete tasks on personal devices. He previously led Canadian open banking at MX Technologies, bringing together market strategy, technical standards, and evolving financial-sector regulation.
AAndrew brings 15 years of board experience to Holland Bloorview. He served on the board (2011–2023) of the Canadian Internet Registration Authority, which operates critical internet infrastructure and .CA domain names. As audit, finance and risk chair and later vice chair, he implemented strategic risk oversight and balanced commercial growth with mission impact. He has served on several other boards and committees, including the stakeholders committee (2019–2021) of Casey House, a specialty hospital for people living with and at risk of HIV.
Ene Underwood
Ene Underwood has served as CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area since 2013. Under her leadership, Habitat GTA has evolved into one of Canada’s leading affordable housing non-profits, expanding homeownership programs while developing innovative housing models and partnerships and helping shape broader housing policy.
Her career began as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company, followed by two decades of leadership in Ontario’s hospital and child welfare sectors.
Ene’s affinity for Holland Bloorview stems from experiences throughout her life, including summer jobs working with children with special needs, chairing a provincial commission on child welfare, and being the parent of a son with complex needs.

The board of directors provides strategic oversight and governance for Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation hospital and academic health sciences centre, helping guide the organization’s work in clinical care, research, teaching, advocacy and innovation.
