The report unpacks stories and videos of how teams – clinicians, researchers, learners, clients and families – are co-creating state-of-the-art technologies, advanced data analytics and AI to meet the changing complex needs of the nearly 10,000 clients and families the hospital serves annually.

“With guidance and direction from our executive leadership team and board of directors, and thanks to the support of staff, donors, government and research partners, we are making important strides in right-sizing pediatric health care and ensuring that all children have access to the right care, at the right time and in the right place,” says Julia Hanigsberg, president and CEO.

Here are some of the ways Holland Bloorview is using data and AI to continually predict and improve health outcomes of kids and youth with disabilities and neurodevelopmental differences:

• Dr. Azadeh Kushki and Dr. Danielle Baribeau are exploring how an AI tool can pinpoint the right medication for neurodivergent kids and youth at the right time;
• Teams have launched health equity and sociodemographic surveys so that we can better understand the unique social needs of the clients and families we serve and to foster a healthy work environment that is inclusive, diverse, equitable, accessible and anti-racist;
• Holland Bloorview has joined forces with KidSights, the first of many new data partnerships, bringing together clinical and system-level data to address and narrow the pediatric innovation gap.
