Presented each year at the Bloorview Research Institute's annual symposium is the highly-coveted Dr. John Whittaker Memorial Award. This award, inspired by Dr. Whittaker's dedication to improving the quality of life of children with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities, recognizes one individual who has provided outstanding contributions to rehabilitation and made an impact on the lives of children with disabilities.
Expanded award opportunity
Holland Bloorview's research institute is proud to announce that the Dr. John Whittaker Memorial Award has expanded to two award opportunities this year due to the generosity of Margaret Whittaker and the Whittaker Family.
"We are so grateful for the support that the Whittaker family has provided to Holland Bloorview over the years and thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize more individuals that have made an impact on the lives of children with disabilities," says Krissy Doyle-Thomas, manager of research operations. "Our life-changing research is led by dedicated individuals driven by the common goal of making life better for others. We're excited to celebrate these individuals for their innovative research and outstanding service."
