Advocating for Safety: Clients and Families as Partners is a series of e-learning created to support parents, caregivers, and family members in becoming active partners in their child’s safety and care.
As a parent, you know your child best. These modules recognize the valuable insights, observations, and lived experiences that families bring to healthcare. They provide practical tools and strategies to help you speak up, ask questions, raise concerns, and work collaboratively with care teams.
Through real-life examples and interactive learning, the modules explore how families can help prevent harm, contribute to safer care, and strengthen communication with healthcare providers. Participants will learn about their important role in safety, ways to navigate challenging situations, and how to foster respectful partnerships that support the best possible outcomes for children and youth.
Whether you are new to the healthcare system or have years of experience advocating for your child, these modules offer tools, knowledge, confidence and skills to help you engage as a trusted partner in care. Together, families and healthcare teams can create a safer, more responsive, and family-centred healthcare experience for every child.
