Shannon is in her first year of the MHSc in Clinical Engineering program at the University of Toronto. She is co-supervised by Dr Simon Kelley, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at The Hospital for Sick Children. Her master's thesis focuses on the development of a diagnostic training model for the early detection of hip dysplasia in infants using 3D modelling and rapid prototyping techniques.
Shannon obtained her B.Eng. in Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University and completed a 16 month internship in a project management role at Ontario Power Generation. Outside of the lab Shannon enjoys visual arts including sketching, painting and wood burning and a variety of sports including soccer, hockey and rock climbing.
