Strength in diversity - A reflection by Holly Noon
A reflection by Holly Noon, communicative disorder assistant and co-lead, Disability Employee Resource Group (ERG)
"At Holland Bloorview, I work as a communicative disorders assistant in the brain injury rehabilitation unit and serve as a co-lead of the Disability Employee Resource Group (ERG). It has been wonderful to see Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital recognized once again for its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
As co-lead of the Disability ERG, we have worked to create a space for employees with disabilities to connect, build community, and engage in advocacy for accessibility and inclusion. Over the past year, we hosted a Disability Pride event that highlighted disability-related resources, including book recommendations. We also organized a film screening focused on disability representation, followed by a panel discussion featuring members of our ERG who shared their lived experiences.
I look forward to continuing this work and supporting future events at Holland Bloorview that celebrate diversity, amplify disabled voices, and promote an inclusive workplace for all." - Holly Noon, communicative disorder assistant and co-lead, Disability Employee Resource Group (ERG).
