Evidence to Care
What is Evidence to Care?
Evidence to Care promotes knowledge translation by identifying the best available research evidence and developing strategies to influence care.
Why is Evidence to Care important?
Evidence-informed care is an expectation of all health care professionals in leading academic health sciences centers around the world; however ensuring that it happens consistently is not easily achieved. The aim of Evidence to Care is to advance and support an evidence-friendly culture where staff, families and clients, when appropriate, turn to research evidence and feel comfortable doing so.
Evidence to Care at Holland Bloorview
In 2011, Holland Bloorview launched the Evidence to Care initiative. This unique initiative is the foundation for:
- transforming the best research evidence into high quality and optimal care
- bridging the gap between research, policy and clinical care
- advancing systematic reviews, clinical practice guidelines and evidence-informed best practices in childhood disability
- bringing together knowledge translation experts, health sciences librarians, health care professionals, decision-makers, families and clients to influence care
