Holland Bloorview clinicians join Canadian Pediatric Society board

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (Holland Bloorview) is proud to announce that three of their clinicians have joined the Developmental Paediatric Section of the Canadian Paediatric Society.

Dr. Melanie Penner of Holland Bloorview has been appointed as President of the section, replacing Dr. Anne Kawamura, also of Holland Bloorview. Dr. Angela Orsino was appointed as Secretary-Treasurer and Dr. Iskra Peltekova joined as Member-at-Large (Research).

“We are tremendously proud of Dr. Penner, Dr. Kawamura and Dr. Orsino for their recent nominations in the developmental section of the Canadian Paediatric Society.” says Dr. Golda Milo-Manson, vice president of medicine and academic affairs at Holland Bloorview. “This is not only an accomplishment for these three talented doctors but also for our clients who will have their interests represented at the national level.  I am confident that their collective leadership and expertise will be of great value in developmental pediatrics nationally.”

The Developmental Paediatrics Section of the Canadian Paediatric Society was founded in 1987 and includes professionals interested in care of children with behavioural and developmental disorders. Their common goal is to increase awareness and knowledge of the needs of children with developmental disorders in the context of family and community.
