BRI’s brain computer interface clinical program debuts "wheelchair trainer" application

The Bloorview Research Institute (BRI) recently debuted its brain computer interface (BCI)-enabled "wheelchair trainer" application with a demo from eight-year-old client Giselle. Using the power of her thoughts alone, Giselle was able to move her wheelchair, mounted on a special platform, in space demonstrating the incredible power of this emerging technology to help kids with limited speech and movement achieve greater autonomy and independence.
