Getnet Ayele Kebede, Ph.D.

Getnet Ayele Kebede received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Mechatronics (Robotics), from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taiwan.

He has more than ten years of experience across academia and industry, during which he has led and contributed to projects involving robotic systems, smart sensing technologies, electromechanical systems, and advanced composite materials. He brings strong hands-on expertise in mechanical and electrical system design, modeling, and control.

Getnet has made substantial contributions to research and innovation, with publications in SCI-indexed journals and international conferences. He has held several academic and professional roles, including researcher, instructor, journal reviewer, and mentor, and has supervised and supported graduate and postgraduate students.

His interdisciplinary research interests include assistive technologies, medical devices, robotic and wearable sensing, and sustainable engineering solutions. At the PRISM Lab, Getnet is actively involved in collaborative research projects focused on developing and translating innovative engineering solutions into clinically relevant applications.

In his spare time, Getnet enjoys traveling and exploring new places, cycling, and watching science-fiction films.
