Ene Underwood

CEO, Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area

Ene has been the CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area since 2013.  Under her leadership, Habitat GTA has emerged as one of the most innovative affordable housing non-profits in the country, delivering homeownership opportunities for working families while influencing broader housing solutions both on the ground and through changes in housing policy.

Ene’s career began in the private sector as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company, followed by two decades of leadership in Ontario’s publicly funded hospital sector and child welfare sector.

Having been raised on a farm in southwestern Ontario, Ene remains proudly connected to her agricultural roots on what is now a fifth-generation farm.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Business Administration from Ivey Business School.

Ene’s affinity to the work of Holland Bloorview stems from multiple experiences throughout her life including summer jobs with children with special needs, chairing a provincial commission on child welfare, and being the parent of a son with complex needs.
