Yara completed her dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering from Bahçeşehir University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2021-2022. As part of the Biomedical Engineering research team, she contributed to biomechanics studies in her university's lab, and has also worked with The Scientific and Technological Research Institution of Turkey.
Dr. Baribeau is the first BRI scientist to receive this award, which aims to support early research careers in psychiatry for women
