Volunteer Opportunities
Our goal is to create a mutually beneficial environment where volunteers can contribute their time and talents in meaningful ways that enhance the experience of our clients/patients. To achieve this, volunteer opportunities are determined based on the specific needs of the hospital.

* Aquatics Program: 14 and 15 years of age must have Bronze Medallion or the Bronze Cross Lifesaving Society Award qualifications. 16 years of age and older are not required to have these qualifications.
** Robotics Program: 15 years of age must have FIRST® Robotics experience. 16 years of age and older are not required to have these qualifications.
Before You Apply
- Age Requirements: Do you meet the minimum age criteria?
- Time Commitment: Can you commit to volunteering 3 hours per week?
If accepted and placement is confirmed, you must be prepared to:
- Health Screening: Submit the Holland Bloorview immunization screening form with proof of immunity to rubella, measles, mumps, and varicella (chickenpox), along with documentation of a 2-step Tuberculosis (TB) skin test. Form is provided to you only after placement is confirmed.
- Vulnerable Sector Check: If you are 18 years or older (or will turn 18 during your volunteer term), you must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. If you have completed a VSC within the last 12 months, you may submit the existing form.
- Training Requirements: Complete all mandatory training, either online or in person, and participate in ongoing training sessions as needed.
Please note: Applicants are responsible for covering any costs associated with meeting the immunization and Vulnerable Sector Check requirements.
