Rehabilitation Day 2024

Today is Rehabilitation Day and is a chance to celebrate all of the incredible staff, students and volunteers who are committed to supporting children and youth with disabilities and developmental differences across a number of different specialities. At Holland Bloorview, Canada's only children’s rehabilitation hospital focused on combining world class care, transformational research and academic leadership, we value a holistic approach that is rooted in client- and family-centred care, and we take the lead from our clients and families on what rehabilitation means to them.

Rehabilitation Day was first proclaimed by the City of Toronto in 2019 in recognition of the life-changing impact of rehabilitation services for the millions of people that need them. This includes everything from medicine, physiotherapy and applied behaviour analysis to speech language therapy and occupational therapy, among many other disciplines.  Rehabilitation care and services support the physical, cognitive, developmental, behavioral and mental health needs of children, youth and families and contribute to the most meaningful and healthy futures of all children and youth.
