Welcome to CDARS Lab

The Critical Disability and Rehabilitation Studies (CDARS) unit investigates the mechanisms of social inclusion and exclusion for young people with disabilities and the effects on their health and wellbeing. Under the direction of Dr. Barbara Gibson, our multidisciplinary team works with children and families to better understand the social, cultural and ethical dimensions of children’s health and rehabilitation including examining how prevailing policies, practices, and values affect health, identity, and participation.
