Community Snoezelen Room

slide_mirror_reflection

Holland Bloorview was home to Canada’s first Snoezelen room which opened in 1992 soon followed by a community–based Snoezelen room established in 1995.

The community Snoezelen room uses music, lighting effects, gentle vibrations, tactile sensations and aromatherapy, which all provide opportunities for a unique sensory experience. It aims to provide an oasis of tranquility where you can relax and have the opportunity to choose an activity at your own pace.

Holland Bloorview's community Snoezelen room is open to Holland Bloorview clients, community agencies, schools and support organizations for children and adults with disabilities. (Currently not open for external programming)

An overhead track system (Hoyer lift) is available in the Snoezelen room. Clients must bring their own sling.
