Welcome to the Quality FM

The Quality Function Measure (Quality FM or QFM) is a clinical and research tool designed to evaluate quality of movement in standing and walking skills in school-aged children and youth who have cerebral palsy (CP). It was built as a companion measure for the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM).

Developed by Virginia Wright and Peter Rosenbaum and their team at Bloorview Research Institute (Toronto), CanChild/McMaster Children's Hosptial (Hamilton) and ErinoakKids (Mississauga), the Quality FM is a reliable and valid measure that is intended to measure how well young people with CP move and help physical therapists determine what areas of motor function to work on to enhance the quality of motor control.
