Laurie Hicks was recently appointed as one of six Peer Advisory/Faculty for the Canadian Patient Safety Institute's Effective Governance for Quality and Patient Safety Program. She has experience in business and information technology (IT) consulting across a wide variety of industry sectors and client profiles, delivering well planned, technology-enabled business and service solutions.
She has a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University, Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and is a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants (FCMA).
Her Board experience includes 12 years as Trustee at University Health Network, including serving on the Quality Committee (Chair and Vice Chair terms), the Finance and Audit Committee, numerous search committees for Senior positions at the hospital and several task forces. Throughout the past 25 years, Laurie has held a number of other volunteer roles with the Community for Excellence in Health Governance, United Way of Toronto, the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario and organizations such as the National Ballet of Canada, Junior Achievement and Bessborough Home and School Association.
Laurie is a member of the Business and Audit Committee and the Quality Committee of the Board.
