Help us design and test a brain-controlled music instrument for children with cerebral palsy!


Call to action

Has your child been diagnosed with cerebral palsy? Consider participating in a 10-week research study to design and test a brain-controlled music instrument for music therapy!


Who can participate

  • 8-19 years old
  • Able to provide a yes/no response (non-verbal/ verbal cues)
  • Have normal or corrected-to-normal hearing and vision
  • Able to follow simple instructions in English
  • No metallic implants or fragments in the body
  • No history of photosensitive epilepsy or psychosis

What's involved

  • Learn to use the brain-controlled music instrument in 16 music therapy sessions (2 sessions x 8 weeks). Each session is 1 hour.
  • 2 MRI brain scan sessions. Each session is 1 hour.
  • 2 EEG brain waves sessions with attention challenges for children. Each session is 1.5 hours.
